In view of Gordon Brown's announcement this week that he is sending yet more of our troops to Afghanistan in a war that no-one in this country knows, or understands, why we are there. Oh and it looks like we are going to be there for the next 30 years too! God knows how many more of our troops are going to die there and how much money it's going to cost. Northern Ireland all over again? It's turning into a nasty guerilla war in which more of our brave troops will needlessly die. Think about it at the moment - all of our troops are being posted overseas. I don't know whether or not you are of an age or have a good English recent-history background but I understand that the last time the Labour Government was in charge when these sort of stunts were being pulled, Harold Wilson was in charge. He was very concerned that MI5 and some of the senior top brass of the military were plotting a military coup against him and his government of the day. This is all, apparently, historical fact and some of it is talked about in the book 'Spycatcher'. Well, it looks to me like the very same thing is happening as we speak. All the troops are everywhere but in the Uk in any numbers. To be honest, it would be nice to see a military coup take place within the doors of Number 10 because Brown and his mob have definitely lost the next election and all we are going to see is another two years of misery and being screwed every which way. So I don't know about 'troops out' but I would much prefer troops in charge at Number 10 because they can't do a worse job than this bunch of comedians.
