I read the newspaper columns of some of Fleet Street's finest and I'm heartened to see an almost universal hatred of speed cameras.
But that's all there is to it.
I speak to reporters all the time (and some big names amongst them) and yet no-one will back a campaign for common sense.
I don't understand why.
So here I am waiting for some of the newspaper executives to get banned by the Government's roadside cash machines and then we might start to see some movement - like the Daily mail's campaign to get rid of plastic bags.
Speed cameras are a cancer spreading across the western civilised world, orchestrated by the technology companies, who are the only winners in this I assure you! Speed cameras have been proven the world over not to make much of an impact on killed or seriously injured casualty statistics, but cause a lot of heartache to persons who lose not only their licences, but their livelihoods, just from slightly exceeding an arbitary speed limit!
It's bizarre that we have a London-centric media who have to deal with not only speed cameras but also congestion charge cameras, bus lane cameras, box junction cameras, parking cameras and red light cameras.
